Have you ever been surprised by your electricity bill? Take control by signing up for usage notifications via text or email through the mySamHouston online portal.
To sign up for notifications, members can log in to their existing account on SamHouston.net, or create an account by enrolling with their account number, and then click Notifications to set up an email or mobile phone to receive brief text messages from Sam Houston Electric Cooperative. Under the Usage area, you can set limits for high and low kilowatt-hour use by day or even by hour. Be sure to click Save Subscription before leaving the page.
“There is valuable information available through mySamHouston,” said Keith Stapleton, chief communications officer. “Members can view their past electricity use by day or by hour. The screen even shows the average temperature for the same time period, which will impact your bill.”
Other notifications can alert members when a new bill is available or if payment has been received.
While setting up notifications, members also will see the option to receive a notification when their service is interrupted by a power outage.
