Thirst For Knowledge
Aquarena Springs in San Marcos was one of Texas’ first water attractions and a major tourist destination. It featured swimming pigs, mermaid shows, gondola rides and glass-bottom boats. See videos from those days, plus a video highlighting the site today—the Meadows Center for Water and the Environment, a Texas State University research and conservation facility.

Still Empowering People
Texas Co-op Power celebrates its 75th anniversary this year. Peek into the magazine archives to see features and graphics from the 1940s, when electricity was still new to rural Texans.

Sunny Citrus
Each month in 2019 we’ll feature Retro Recipes, dishes from past issues of the magazine that Food Editor Paula Disbrowe will tweak and update for current tastes. Check out the original Frozen Lime Pie recipe and the page that featured it in July 1950.
