There will be infantry and artillery firing demonstrations periodically throughout the day! On Saturday, the Ice House Brass Band will perform during a barbecue lunch offered to the public by the Friends of Fort McKavett, donations are graciously accepted. At 2:00 pm on Saturday, the Sahawe Indian Dancers, members of Boy Scout Troop and Venture 181 from Uvalde, will present a colorful and fast moving variety of Native American dances. This is one of the largest events of its kind and takes place at a beautifully pristine historic frontier fort that was once called “the prettiest post in Texas.”
