The Stonewall Peach Jamboree & Rodeo is held every 3rd full weekend in June. This year’s 60th annual Jamboree starts on Thursday, June 17th and goes through Saturday, the 19th. The Jamboree has been celebrating peaches since 1961 with thousands in attendance at each performance. The morning starts out with a 10 am community parade full of horses, beautiful queens from surrounding Hill Country towns, including our very own Peach Queen & Duchesses, and lots of smiles. Post-parade, one can fill up on barbecue and all the fixings made by some of the best in the community. During the day, the local peach farmers bring their best peaches for a contest and auction. There are categories like heaviest peach, perfect peach and even best ½ bushel basket. Additionally, sweet pies, cobblers, preserves and salsas are judged in a baking contest. Visitors can fill up on peach pies and cobblers with a scoop of ice cream sold by the local 4-H club. Other activities planned throughout the afternoon include the Peach Patch area for kids, a goat roping, 42 tournament, washer pitching tournament and the peach queen pageant. Included in this multi-day event are two evening rodeo performances, which are #1 rated by the Cowboys Professional Rodeo Association, followed up by legendary music acts. This year Aaron Watson plays Friday and Reckless Kelly plays Saturday.
